Reading Assistance Lens Technology

TheraRead™

Light-filtering lens options designed for visual comfort while reading.

Some readers find particular lighting or page-contrast conditions uncomfortable. Reading difficulties can have many different causes.

TheraRead™ uses selected colour tints to adjust transmitted light and perceived page contrast. Individual experience varies.

Selected-Wavelength Filtering

Reduces selected wavelengths and changes perceived page contrast and glare.

Page Contrast Adjustment

The tint changes perceived contrast between text and its background. Preferences vary by reader.

Tinted Light Transmission

Uses a selected tint to change transmitted light. It does not treat cortical activity or dyslexia.

Tint and Intensity Options

Available in different shades and intensities. Selection should be based on wearer comfort and professional guidance.

TheraRead lenses are not intended to diagnose or treat dyslexia, a learning disorder or another visual or neurological condition. They are not a substitute for an eye examination, educational assessment or medical care. Persistent reading difficulties should be professionally evaluated.

About Visual Comfort While Reading

Research has examined coloured overlays and tinted lenses for visual comfort, but findings and individual responses vary.

TheraRead™ changes spectral transmission and perceived contrast. Response varies between wearers.

Some wearers may prefer a particular tint, but these lenses should not be expected to improve reading fluency or comprehension.
